Meet the Priest

Headshot of the Rev. Susan C. Gage

The Rev. Susan C. Gage, LMT

The Reverend Susan Gage graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in May, 2021, and was assigned for part of her transitional diaconate at St. Barnabas on August 1, 2021. By November, it became obvious to the vestry and to her that Reverend Susan should stay on at St. Barnabas. Bishop Frank Logue ordained Rev. Susan to the Sacred Order of Priests on January 22, 2022 and serves as our part-time Priest-in-Charge. She is with us on Sundays and most Wednesdays during the year. Her other vocation is working as a licensed massage therapist in Tallahassee, Florida, where she lives with her wife, Isabelle. A native of New Hampshire, she is an avid fan of New England sports teams, enjoys theater and participates with the Mickee Faust Club in Tallahassee. Her first career was as a public radio reporter/producer and host, covering the Florida state capitol and Supreme Court. She is passionate about social justice and following Jesus’ words as found in Luke 4:18-19:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
